Queen Latifah's $6 Falsies Look So Natural at the 2021 BET Awards

There's no debating how iconic Queen Latifah is. The multitalented star has proven her acting skills since her first days playing everyone's favorite magazine editor on Living Single and shown her ability to belt a perfect note or switch expertly between rap flows, all while her hair stays sleek and laid. She has never let up, and for the 2021 BET Awards, she arrived ready to take our collective breath away with skin so radiant, you may need sunglasses to see it.

The Newark native stepped on the red carpet dressed in a Thom Browne black-and-white outfit, complete with a cape, pleated skirt, and pointy, gold-tipped black boots. Her natural-looking makeup and simple updo match the outfit's minimalist vibe.

The U.N.I.T.Y. singer's skin looks so damn luminous. We don't know if it's the results of genetics, dedicated skin-care treatments, or the work of a phenomenal foundation, but she looks stunning.
To prep and moisturize her skin, makeup artist Ernesto Casillas used Youth to the People's Kombucha + 11% AHA Exfoliation Power Toner and Adaptogen Deep Moisture Cream. On the high points of her face, he applied the brand's Superberry Hydrate + Glow Dream Oil.

"For the red carpet look, Queen Latifah is serving Hip Hop Royalty with a textured ponytail," he tells Allure. "So I decided the makeup needed to be clean and pretty to balance the look out." Her eyebrows were etched into impeccable arches with Fenty Brow MVP Ultra Fine Brow Pencil & Styler in Dark Auburn.

Instead of shimmery eye shadow, he decided to focus on just the lashes for this look. "The lashes were super important as I didn't do an eye shadow look, so I opted for Ardell Double Up Wispies for both length and volume," he says.

On the apples of her cheeks, you'll notice a rosy wash of color blended with expertise by makeup artist Ernesto Casillas. He painted Smashbox's Be Legendary Prime & Plush Lipstick in Recognized, a pinky caramel hue, onto her lips.

Her caramel-colored hair was given slight waves for a more textured look and styled up into a faux-hawk ponytail. The sides were slicked down, and listen, Queen, if you're reading this, please give us the details on what gel is keeping all those hairs in place, please. Her wavy hair at the front was styled into a tousled pompadour that elevates her simple ponytail. (Yes, the early 2000s called, and we are eagerly picking up the phone.)

The Queen looks incredible — what more can we really say? If there's anyone that deserves a BET Lifetime Achievement Award, it surely is Queen Latifah, and we're excited to see her finally get her flowers.
