To most of the world, the word "pregnant" is a pretty standard term to describe someone who is, in fact, pregnant. But Queen Elizabeth II is NOT HAVING IT.

According to a recently dusted-off and truly hilarious article about Her Majesty's pet peeves published by Us Weekly literally eons ago when Prince George was a mere baby, Queen Elizabeth prefers not to use "pregnant" when describing women who are expecting. Why, you ask?

Per a palace source who spoke to the magazine, the Queen finds the term "vulgar." Which...uh...okay?

But if she doesn't use the word "pregnant" to describe people who are, in fact, pregnant, what does she use? Well, the source claims Her Majesty instead refers to pregnant women as "in the family way." Which is honestly the most Queen Elizabeth-y thing I've ever heard-potentially even more Queen Elizabeth-y than reports that she left a scathing note to her staff after finding a slug in her meal.
