Britons following news closely as longest-serving monarch's health declines.

Queen Elizabeth II is under medical supervision at Balmoral Castle with her four children by her side.

Prince Charles, Princess Anne, Prince Andrew and Prince Edward are now all with their 96-year-old mother in Scotland following Buckingham Palace’s statement this morning in which they said that the queen’s doctors “are concerned for Her Majesty’s health.”

Her grandson Prince William is also present. Duchess Kate has remained at their home in Windsor because it’s their children’s first day at their new school.

The new British prime minister Liz Truss—who only met with the monarch two days ago, when she traveled to Balmoral and was formally asked by the queen to form a government in her name—said, “The whole country will be deeply concerned by the news from Buckingham Palace this lunchtime.

“My thoughts—and the thoughts of people across our United Kingdom—are with Her Majesty The Queen and her family at this time.”

The photograph of the queen meeting Liz Truss was the first time she had been seen in public in weeks.

Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan, meanwhile, are on their way to Scotland. They had been due to attend the WellChild Awards in London this evening having returned from their launch of the 2023 Invictus Games in Germany.
