This morning, before officially kicking off their royal tour of Fiji, Australia, Tonga, and New Zealand, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle announced they are expecting their first child together.

Kensington Palace shared the news on Twitter, just hours after the Duke and Duchess of Sussex touched down in Sydney for their 16-day trip.

"Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are very pleased to announce that The Duchess of Sussex is expecting a baby in the Spring of 2019," reads the official announcement. "Their Royal Highnesses have appreciated all of the support they have received from people around the world since their wedding in May and are delighted to be able to share this happy news with the public."

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex reportedly shared their happy news with the rest of the royal family at Princess Eugenie's wedding on Friday, and the Queen is “delighted for the couple,” as are the Duke of Edinburgh, the Prince of Wales, the Duchess of Cornwall and the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.

Meghan Markle's mom, Doria Ragland, has also issued a sweet statement through Kensington Palace about her daughter's pregnancy. She is "very happy at this lovely news and is looking forward to welcoming her first grandchild."

According to Daily News royal correspondent Rebecca English, the Palace "declined to comment on whether her father, Thomas Markle, had been told."

While Kensington Palace shared that the newest member of the royal family will arrive in spring of 2019, an exact due date has yet to be shared.
