Queen Elizabeth Is Legit Out Here Selling Gin to Pay for Buckingham Palace

From Cosmopolitan

  • Please be advised, Queen Elizabeth is selling gin now.

  • Proceeds from the Queen's gin will go towards the upkeep of Buckingham Palace.

Looks like Queen Elizabeth has a new job: getting everyone drunk. According to Conde Nast Traveller, the Royal Collection Trust has launched a "premium London-dry gin" which you can buy on the Buckingham Palace website for £40.

Apparently, the gin is made from citrus and herbs that were sourced and hand-picked from the Queen's gardens at Buckingham Palace, including lemon, hawthorn berries and a bunch of other fancy royal plants. TO QUOTE:

"Lemon, verbena, hawthorn berries and mulberry leaves are among the 12 botanicals hand-picked for the gin in the Gardens at Buckingham Palace, which span 16 hectares and provide a habitat for 30 species of bird and over 250 species of wild flower."

Meanwhile, the gin comes in a chic blue glass bottle and says "Buckingham Palace Dry Gin" right on the front.

When it comes to actually consuming the product, the Palace suggests pouring a shot into an ice-filled tumbler and then toping with tonic and lemon. But drinking straight from the bottle probably also works, IDK.

All profits from Queen Elizabeth's gin will go to the Royal Trust Collection, which funds the upkeep of Buckingham Palace. Gotta keep the lights on somehow!
