The British royal family is front and center right now as the world gears up for Oprah Winfrey’s sure-to-be-bombshell interview with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.

Early snippets released from the interview suggest that Meghan and Harry are planning to spill the tea on royal life. “I don’t know how they could expect that after all of this time we would still just be silent if there is an active role that The Firm is playing in perpetuating falsehoods about us,” Meghan says in one clip. “And if that comes with risk of losing things, there is a lot that has been lost already.”

All this attention on the royal family has made plenty of people curious about Queen Elizabeth II’s other grandchildren. Here’s the full crew, from oldest to youngest.

Peter Phillips

Peter, 43, is the son of Princess Anne and her ex-husband Captain Mark Phillips. The queen’s oldest grandchild tends to keep out of the spotlight, but he attends royal events here and there. He and his wife Autumn announced, per Hello, in 2020 that they’ve separated.

Zara Tindall

Zara is Peter’s younger sister. The 39-year-old is actually a world-class equestrian—she won silver at the 2012 Olympics. She’s married to rugby star Mike Tyndall and has two children with him.

Prince William

The 38-year-old heir to the throne is the oldest son of Prince Charles and the late Princess Diana. He’s a full-time working royal and has three children with his wife, Kate Middleton.

Prince Harry

Harry is Charles and Diana’s second son. The 36-year-old prince was a full-time working royal until last year, when he and his wife Meghan Markle decided to step back from royal life. He now lives in California and is expecting his second child.

Princess Beatrice

Beatrice is the older daughter of Prince Andrew and his ex-wife, Sarah Ferguson. While the 32-year-old is royal, she’s not considered a working royal. She recently married Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi in a private wedding ceremony and became a stepmom to his son, something Beatrice told the Evening Standard is a “great honor.”

Princess Eugenie

Eugenie, 30, is the younger daughter of Andrew and Sarah. She’s worked in the art world and recently welcomed her first child, son August, in February with her husband, Jack Brooksbank.

Lady Louise Windsor

Louise is the youngest of Queen Elizabeth’s granddaughters and the daughter of Prince Edward and Sophie, the Countess of Wessex. Louise, 17, occasionally appears at royal events alongside her parents.

James, Viscount Severn

At 12, James is the youngest of Queen Elizabeth’s grandchildren. He rarely attends royal events.

The British royal family has been in the press a lot over the past few years. For starters, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle caused quite a stir with their bombshell documentary and tell-all book, and ended their gigs as working royals. And, of course, there was the death of Queen Elizabeth II in 2022, and her son, King Charles’ ascension of the throne with his wife, Queen Camilla.

Now, season six of The Crown just dropped its first few episodes on Netflix, and the new episodes don't shy away from family drama. From Princess Diana's untimely death to the love story between Prince William and now-princess Kate Middleton, the royals' relationship take center stage. Naturally, the series has everyone asking a lot of questions about the royal family again, and specifically, about Queen Elizabeth's grandchildren.

While Prince Harry and Prince Williams have grown up in the spotlight, some of their royal cousins have been able to fly under the radar. Of course, Princesses Beatrice and Princess Eugenie have made headlines in recent years, but did you know Queen Elizabeth II has eight grandchildren? (Yeah, me neither.)

It's no secret that the Queen had complicated relationships with her four children, and based on what was shared from Oprah's interview with Meghan and Harry, it seems like that may have extended to her relationship with at least one of her grandchildren, too. But who are Queen Elizabeth II’s grandchildren and what are they up to now? Here’s a breakdown, from oldest to youngest.

Peter Phillips

Peter is the son of Princess Anne and her ex-husband, Captain Mark Phillips. He was born on November 15, 1977. The queen’s oldest grandchild tends to keep out of the spotlight, but he attends royal events here and there. He and his wife Autumn announced in 2020 that they’ve separated, Hello reported.

Peter is a father of two girls—Savannah and Isla Phillips, and he’s been described as a “favorite” of the late queen. “I’ve always been very close to my grandmother, and we speak often,” Peter told The Telegraph in 2016. “She has been an inspirational person throughout my life.”

Zara Tindall

Zara is Peter’s younger sister. Born on May 15, 1981, the now-42-year-old is actually a world-class equestrian—she won silver at the 2012 Olympics.

She’s married to rugby star Mike Tyndall and has three children with him. While Zara doesn’t have royal title through her family, she is a Member of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (MBE) for her services in equestrianism.

Prince William

William, as the oldest son of King Charles and the late Princess Diana, is now first in line for the throne. He’s a full-time working royal and has three children with his wife, Princess Kate Middleton.

Prince William became the Prince of Wales in 2022 after the death of his grandmother. He is reportedly struggling in his relationship with his brother, Prince Harry (more on that in a sec). The Omid Scobie book Endgame alleges that their relationship is “beyond repair” and that William “doesn’t want to know” brother, who he thinks has been “brainwashed,” per People.

William is really focused on environmental projects, and launched The Earthshot Prize in 2020, which is described on the royal website as "a global environmental prize and platform to discover, award, celebrate and scale ground-breaking solutions to repair and regenerate the planet every year until 2030."

Prince Harry

Harry is Charles and Diana’s second son. The 39-year-old prince was a full-time working royal until 2020, when he and his wife, Meghan Markle, decided to step back from royal life.

He now lives in California with Meghan, his son, Archie, and his daughter, Lilibet. After stepping back from royal life, Harry and Meghan have spoken out about how they say they were treated poorly within the family.

The couple did an Oprah interview and did a Netflix documentary that explored the difficulties of life inside and outside the royal family, and Harry released a memoir in January 2023 called Spare that broke down his life, as well as his fractured relationship with his father and brother.

Princess Beatrice

Beatrice, born August 8, 1988, is the older daughter of Prince Andrew and his ex-wife, Sarah Ferguson.

While Beatrice is part of the royal family, she’s not considered a working royal. She married Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi in a private wedding ceremony in 2020, and became a stepmom to his son. Beatrice told the Evening Standard that her new "stepmom" title was a "great honor."

Beatrice and Edoardo are also parents to daughter, Sienna Elizabeth, who was born in 2021.

Princess Eugenie

Eugenie, born March 23, 1990, is the younger daughter of Andrew and Sarah. She’s worked in the art world and his mom to sons August and Ernest with her husband, Jack Brooksbank.

Eugenie apparently has a close relationship with her cousin, Harry, and his wife Meghan. In Endgame, author Omid Scobie claims Eugenie was the one who called Harry when their grandmother's health began failing, per The Daily Mail.

Lady Louise Windsor

Louise is the youngest of Queen Elizabeth’s granddaughters and the daughter of Prince Edward and Sophie, the Countess of Wessex. Louise, born in 2003, occasionally appears at royal events alongside her parents, but doesn't use a royal title.

“We try to bring them up with the understanding that they are very likely to have to work for a living," her mom, Sophie, told the Sunday Times. “Hence we made the decision not to use HRH titles.”

Sophie is certainly living a pretty normal life, and is currently studying English at the University of St Andrews, where she matriculated in September of 2022.

James, Earl of Wessex

Born in 2007, James is the youngest of Queen Elizabeth’s grandchildren, and is still a teenager. He rarely attends royal events.

James lives with his parents at their home, Bagshot Park, which is close to Windsor Castle, according to Tatler. He’s also into being outside. A royal source told The Sun in 2019 that James enjoys flipping burgers and salmon fishing.
