Queen Elizabeth took a break from her busy schedule to celebrate a super-special occasion: Princess Anne’s birthday.

This week, the 96-year-old monarch shared a heartfelt tribute on social media in honor of Princess Anne’s 72th birthday on August 15. The post featured a personal message from the queen, along with a photo of Princess Anne wearing a floral outfit with a matching purple hat.

It read, “Wishing The Princess Royal a happy birthday today!”

Fans filled the comments section with well-wishes for Princess Anne. One person wrote, “A very Happy Birthday to Her Royal Highness Princess Royal Anne. Best wishes [bouquet emojis].” Another follower added, “Happy birthday, Your Highness. Have a wonderful day!” Someone even referenced her late dad, Prince Philip: “Takes no nonsense, just like her father.”

Queen Elizabeth wasn’t the only person who wished Princess Anne a happy birthday. Prince Charles also posted a tribute on the social media account he shares with his wife, Camilla Parker Bowles.
