Queen Camilla's son Tom Parker Bowles just made some rare public comments about his mom, and denied claims Prince Harry made in Spare about her playing the "long game" to marry King Charles.

The comment came up when Harry was explaining that he and Prince William didn't want their father to marry Camilla.

"'We support you,'" he recalled saying, "'We endorse Camilla. Just please don’t marry her, just be together, Pa.' He didn’t answer. But she answered. Straight away. Shortly after our private summits with her, she began to play the long game. A campaign aimed marriage, and eventually the Crown, with Pa’s blessing we presumed. Stories began to appear everywhere in all the papers about her private conversation with Willy, stories that contained pinpoint accurate details, none of which had come from Willy, of course. They could only have been leaked by the other one other person present."

Apparently, Tom has a verrrrry different version of events. Speaking on the News Agents podcast (via the BBC)—Queen Camilla's son said "I think change happens but I don't care what anyone says—this wasn't any sort of end game. She married the person she loved and this is what happened."

Tom was also asked if his mother was "anxious" about the upcoming coronation ceremony, and said it's "tough" but that she "she's never complained."

"I think anyone would be anxious on an occasion of this sort of importance in terms of the historical," he explained. "And yes, I think I'd be terrified if I had to sort of walk out wearing ancient robes..."

Welp. Between Camilla's "ancient robes" and both Tom and Prince Harry being in attendance at the coronation, this event is getting more and more awk by the day.
