Queen Camilla Has Been Given a Brand-New (and Very Important) Title

Months after being crowned as the new queen consort alongside King Charles during his coronation ceremony, Queen Camilla now has a new title to add to her growing list of achievements.

Before Holocaust Remembrance Day (which takes place on January 27), the Anne Frank Trust UK announced on their Instagram page earlier today that the queen, 76, has become the first royal patron of the London-based charity.

Alongside a photo of the royal and the historic figure Anne Frank, who became famous for documenting her experience during the Holocaust in a diary, the caption read, “Ahead of Holocaust Memorial Day 2024, we are deeply honored to announce that Her Majesty The Queen - @theroyalfamily, has become the first Royal Patron of the Anne Frank Trust UK.”

Per the charity’s website, Her Majesty was the guest of honor at the Anne Frank Trust Annual Lunch in 2022. The event, which was also held on Holocaust Memorial Day, marked the 75th anniversary of the publication of Frank’s diary. Below, the former duchess can be seen holding a copy of the historic diary.

In honor of the queen becoming the charity’s first royal patron, Nicola Cobbold, who is the Chair of the Anne Frank Trust, said in a statement, “As a youth charity whose key educational tool is a beloved book, Anne Frank’s Diary, we could not be more delighted to have Her Majesty as our Patron. What this confirms, too, is The Queen’s deep commitment to commemorating the 6 million Jews murdered by the Nazis and to overcoming prejudice today.”

Congratulations on your new role, Queen Camilla!
