Quebec's Largest Ski Resort Opening Brand New Summer Skiing Experience

Mont Tremblant is a popular skiing destination in Quebec, Canada that draws tourists from the United States and abroad.

The resort offers normal summer activities like hiking, swimming, zip lining, and more. Now, for the first time in the resort's history, skiers will be able to make turns all year long thanks to a new dry slope surface.

Take a look at the announcement video from Mont Tremblant below:

Mont Tremblant followed up the video above with more details in their next post.

The mountain will open a small dry slope in their learning area on August 18th, 2023. It appears that Tremblant is marketing this dry slope skiing experience for beginners and novices as an excellent introductory experience to the sport.

Lift tickets are available online for $37 (CAD) for adults, and $33 (CAD) for children. Tickets are valid for one hour and come with all of the necessary rental gear (boots, helmet, skis, poles, etc.).

Summer skiing! 🎿☀️ Located on the Équilibre learning terrain at the base of the mountain, you'll have the chance to try skiing and snowboarding or even develop your skills on a dry slope as of August 18."

There are a few ski resorts in the United States that use dry slope technology to ski throughout the summer, but the idea hasn't caught on en masse.

While dry slopes provide a somewhat slippery surface to slide on, the sensation to winter skiing ins't quite there just yet.

Will this beginner dry slope catch on at Mont Tremblant? That remains to be seen.

We'll keep our eyes peeled here at Powder Magazine for updates to this story as they become available. More information about Mont Tremblant below:
