These pumpkin patches are Delaware favorites, according to new survey

Pumpkin pie for dessert. Carving jack-o'-lanterns with friends. A morning pick-me-up in the form of a pumpkin spice donut.

However you plan to get your fix this fall, why not start from scratch and pick your own pumpkin? And if you need help figuring out where the popular local pumpkin patches are, we’ve got you covered.

Three thousand families were surveyed by Family Destinations Guide and asked to rate their favorite pumpkin-picking spots in each state.

Here’s what your fellow Delawareans said.

In Delaware, Mr. Pepper’s Pumpkin Patch in Laurel was voted the state’s favorite pumpkin patch.

Mr. Pepper’s Pumpkin Patch is open through Tuesday, Oct. 31. Hours are Sunday through Friday from noon to dusk and Saturday from 10 a.m. to dusk.

The patch also offers $4 hayrides and $6 corn mazes. On weekends, you can enjoy the foods from the snack shack, including hamburgers, hot dogs and various packaged snacks.

Coming in at No. 2, Filasky’s Produce and Farm Market in Middletown offers u-pick pumpkins, a soybean maze, bonfires and hayrides during the day and at night on weekends and holidays through early November.

Filasky’s is open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily, allowing plenty of time for you to stop by for a visit this month. If you get hungry while pumpkin picking, be sure to buy some pumpkin donuts and pumpkin ice cream before you leave.

Delaware’s third favorite pumpkin patch is Fifer Orchards in Camden.

U-pick pumpkins are available through Tuesday, Oct. 31, but the site’s Fall Fest will continue through Saturday, Nov. 4, offering a u-play area for fun activities and the 2023 Motor Maze, a corn maze partnership with Dover Motor Speedway.
