Puma Releases Golf Shoe Capsule Inspired by Florida Alligators

Puma Golf released a limited-edition capsule collection on Tuesday in honor of the 50th annual Sawgrass Tournament and fronted by the Phantomcat Nitro Gator golf shoe. Designed using inspiration from the state of Florida and its large population of alligators, the new take on the brand’s Phantomcat Nitro golf shoe features a classic wingtip design in a navy, gold and white colorway.

The Phantomcat Nitro Gator golf shoe is equipped with additional style details, including a gold heel and sole both embossed with a three-dimensional alligator print. The shoes are also adorned with a stamp of the state of Florida inside each heel.

Other design details included within the new Phantomcat Nitro Gators are full-grain leather uppers, which include a one-year waterproof guarantee, and a molded heel panel to lock the wearer’s foot into place for improved stability and control.

Designed with nitrogen-infused foam embedded into the heel, the sneakers were made for high performance on the golf course. The Phantomcat Nirto Gators are even crafted with a Flexspike design, an additionally engineered detail that allows the wearer to increase surface contact with the ground and maintain better traction and weight distribution.

“The Phantomcat Nitro Gator offers all of the same impressive tech and performance as the standard model. However, they feature a sharp wingtip design and a unique color scheme normally associated with the tournament. Anyone who enjoys that tournament or feels a close connection to the state of Florida in general will love the look of this limited model,” said Andrew Lawson, senior product line manager of footwear for Puma Golf.

Additionally, Puma Golf released several other products within the new capsule collection, including a Mttr Tropics polo shirt, rope hat and several Cobra gator-themed golf club headcovers, also inspired by the colorful aesthetics of Florida.
