Puma Adds Fiery Touch to the Formstrip Sneaker With Butter Goods Collaboration

To celebrate its 75th anniversary, Puma is collaborating with Australian skate and streetwear brand Butter Goods.

Gearing up for another decade of innovative and performance-driven athletic apparel, the German sportswear manufacturer has partnered once again with Butter Goods, a brand known for its strong graphic identity that combines skateboarding culture and musical values, to bring a capsule collection to consumers that celebrates both brands’ unique perspectives on fashion and footwear.

Previously, Puma’s collaboration with Butter Goods has included more subdue designs, including a collaborative capsule that featured a corduroy pair of Basket sneakers and a graphic tee. However, Puma’s most recent partnership with Butter Goods will explore both brand’s creative ingenuity in a new way.

With inspiration drawn from ‘90s dirtbike and BMX racing gear, the collection comprises a small selection of items, including a long-sleeve jersey, racing shorts and a pair of sneakers. The entire collection is centered around the jersey designed in green and red, featuring printed flames that extend up the arms and playful team logos inspired by professional racing. These logos include “PUMA Pro Racing” and “Butter Equipment.”

In addition to the jersey, the new shorts incorporate a checkered motif, including flame accents and finished with both Puma and Butter Good’s logos. Adorned with a numerical symbol, the shorts highlight 1948, the year of Puma’s founding, and 2008, that of Butter Goods.

To pair with both clothing items are a pair of Puma suede low-top Formstrip sneakers, which will retail for $110. These shoes are available in a tonal black colorway with a burnt red flame detail attached on the side with white contrast stitching. Additionally, the sneakers feature a unique co-branded tag stitched onto the tongue with the same yellow and red shades featured in the rest of the collection.

The latest limited-edition drop Puma x Butter Goods will be available on Dec. 16 to shop from either retailer’s online stores, Puma flagship stores and other selected retailers.
