How to Pull Off the Season’s Most Eye-Popping Trend

What better way to turn heads than a blinding dose of raver neon? That seemed to be the season’s M.O., as the highlighter trend memorably jump-started by Prada’s Linea Rossa relaunch last fall continued apace, both at shows like Off-White and Marine Serre and on the streets, which were littered with shocking pink pant suits and other warehouse party looks.

There are two ways to pull off the challenging style. First, a little restraint can go a long way. Think: a neon accoutrement, like the perfect electric green clutch or a classic fisherman’s beanie knitted from traffic-cone orange yarn, which will pop against a basic black dress or striped suit. The other choice is to go for broke in head-to-toe highlighter hues—magenta! Electric blue! Acid green!—and lean into the attention.

Whether you’d like to personify the heyday of Acid House or not, here are five ways to bring screaming color into your life.
