Pug's Funny Reaction to Hearing an Ambulance Has People in Stitches

All it took was hearing an ambulance one time for this pug to go absolutely bonkers.

This pug’s impersonation of an ambulance horn is totally spot-on, for a dog. He’s just howling away, just like an ambulance horn! And he is also running around his living room like a maniac, looking for the ambulance out the window.

The pug is so hyper and seems to be overjoyed making these noises at the camera. He’s definitely spot-on with his impersonation, and should get a treat for it immediately!

The pug seems to be really affected by the ambulance noise, in what way we will never know! It’s probably bothering his ears somewhat, as the noise is pretty loud.

All About Pugs

Pugs are a great breed if you’re looking for a cuddly, low-energy dog. Pugs are one of the world’s oldest canine companions, dating back to being friends to Buddhist Monks in 400 B.C.

Their original purpose was to be lap dogs, and they are great ones at that. Pugs don’t need as much exercise as other breeds due to this fact.

The first Prince William of Orange led the Dutch in a revolt against the Spanish in the 1500s. Spanish soldiers attempted to assassinate him in 1572, but his Pug, Pompey, thwarted the attempt: Assasins attempted to sneak up to Prince William’s tent, but Pompey heard them and started barking. After he saved the prince’s life, the pug became the official breed of the House of Orange.

This was not the only notable Pug throughout history. Napoleon’s wife, Josephine, had a pet Pug named Fortune. When she was in prison, Fortune carried messages from the prison to her first husband. The dog is most famous for biting Napoleon on their wedding night after Josephone refused to tell the dog to get off of their bed.

Many other famous people have owned pugs, including Queen Victoria and Harriet Beecher Stowe. Heavy metal singer Rob Zombie also owns pugs. Italian designer Valentino is also a fan of the breed, often spotted on his private yacht with the dogs.

Despite popular belief due to their appearance, Pugs and Bulldogs are not related. They may have the same smushed faces and stocky builds, but their similarities end there.

After the Catholic Church banned Catholics from becoming Freemasons, a group of them decided to form a covert Freemason society called the Order of the Pug in 1740. Because Pugs are loyal and trustworthy, they chose the dog as their symbol.
