Is Publix Open on Easter Sunday 2023?

Don’t count on doing any day-of grocery runs at Publix on Easter Sunday, because all Publix locations will be closed on the holiday, a company spokesperson confirmed to Parade. But, here's a list of the grocery stores that will be open on Easter 2023.

“Our Publix stores will be closed on Easter Sunday, as we have been for our 92-year history, in order to allow our associates the opportunity to observe the holiday and spend time with family and friends,” the spokesperson said.

Publix isn’t the only major food retailer that will be closed on Easter. Costco, Aldi and Sam’s Club will also keep their doors closed on the holiday.

Luckily, a few major chains, including Walmart, will remain open on Easter for any last-minute Easter shopping needs. Opening hours for some stores may differ on the holiday, though, so check your local store’s hours before heading out to shop.
