PTSD support group meets second Wednesday of the month

Apr. 29—For anyone experiencing Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, they are encouraged to join a local support group which meets on the second Wednesday of each month.

The group meets at 6 p.m. each time in Meeting Room A of the Vigo County YMCA. No membership is required to attend the meeting.

The next meeting will be May 8.

According to a release, this is a safe space for anyone affected by PTSD to convene and feel heard.

Trauma doesn't have to be physical — it can be any stressful event that affects the person's wellbeing.

The goal of the group is to listen to each individual and help them make sense of what happened while making them feel safe.
