What you’ve heard is true: Dyson hair tools are, indeed, worth the hype. After trying most of the brand’s hot tools for myself, the sole, salient con is the three-digit price tags. That said, if sleek, shiny hair is of interest, consider Dyson’s tools a sagacious splurge.

The good news? There's no better time to buy than right now: Thanks to Amazon's October Prime Day sale, two of my favorites, the Dyson Supersonic Hair Dryer and the Dyson Corrale Hair Straightener, are slightly less of a splurge at $100 off and $200 off, respectively. But the Amazon sale ends tonight, and on top of that, Dyson's coveted products are known to sell out fast — so I definitely don't recommend hesitating on these rare deals.

The Dyson Supersonic Hair Dryer is a sleek, meticulously engineered styling tool that dries hair, of all types, efficiently, using less heat than traditional blow dryers. Despite its lack of “extreme heat,” in the brand’s words — a feature the brand claims supports hair health — the Dyson nevertheless dries hair noticeably more quickly than a traditional hair dryer would.

I’ve been using my Dyson Supersonic for about a year. In addition to bestowing shine, it makes blow-drying much less of a chore. For one, the dryer is practically feather-light, which has made the process of drying my 16-inch extensions much less of a burden on my weakling arms. Furthermore, the dryer is notably quiet; Though not entirely silent, the motor is hushed enough to allow for conversation mid-styling, sans yelling.

Perhaps my favorite feature is the aptly named styling concentrator: A super-narrow nozzle attachment that creates a seemingly magical airflow. In addition to smoothing the hair cuticle, and, in turn, inducing shine, it’s designed to allow for styling in sections “without disturbing” the surrounding hair, per the brand. Genius.

And shoppers can’t get enough of the dryer; one said that it makes them feel like they “just left the salon.” And editors love it, too: InStyle senior beauty commerce editor Christina Oehler said it’s “the only type of dryer I use on my fine, thinning hair,” thanks to its gentle-yet-powerful airflow.

The Dyson Corrale — a sleeper hit, IMO — is a cordless hair straightener, and  a staple in my hair tool repertoire for numerous reasons. For one, it smooths in a single pass, on par with its corded counterparts, without tethering me to an outlet. Frankly, it’s a wonder-tool for those among us who run late, as its small size allows for slipping into a shoulder bag and whipping out in an Uber. (I’ve entered many cars with disheveled hair and left feeling polished.)

Per the brand, the Corrale has also been a go-to for celebrity stylists, including Chris Appleton, who has created sleek red carpet looks for Kim Kardashian using the tool.

If you’ve been waiting for a chance to splurge on Dyson’s truly iconic hair tools, consider this your sign. Shop the Dyson Supersonic Dryer and the Dyson Corrale Straightener while they’re still up to 40 percent off before Amazon's Prime Big Deal Days ends tonight.
