The Progressive Grand National Cross Country Series Announces 50th Annual Season Schedule

The Progressive Grand National Cross Country Series, an AMA National Championship, has unveiled its much-anticipated 50th annual season schedule for 2024. The series, hosted by GNCC Racing and produced by Racer Productions, will include a 13-round schedule featuring events in eight different states, highlighting traditional favourites, a return to a fan-favourite venue, and a new location.

Key Takeaways:

  • Expanded Schedule and Locations: The GNCC Racing series is returning to a 13-round format in 2024, spanning across eight states. This includes traditional favourites and the introduction of a new venue, The Old Gray in Monterey, Tennessee.

  • Significant Events and Partnerships: The season will kick off in Union, South Carolina, and will include events aligned with the Daytona Beach “Bike Week” and the Specialised Turbo eMTB GNCC National Championship Series.

  • Tributes and Innovations: The series will continue its tradition of saluting first responders and military at The Mountaineer GNCC in West Virginia and will host the Ironman GNCC as a “pink” race in honour of Breast Cancer Awareness.

The series will begin with the Big Buck GNCC in South Carolina, followed by the Wild Boar GNCC in Florida, which coincides with the Daytona Beach “Bike Week” festivities. The series will then move to The General GNCC in Georgia, followed by the Camp Coker Bullet GNCC in South Carolina, and then to the new venue, The Old Gray in Tennessee.

Jeff Russell, GNCC Trail Boss, expressed excitement for the upcoming season, noting the challenge and technical aspects of the new Tennessee location. He also welcomed the return of racing at Powerline Park, stating, "It's great to make a return there in 2024.”

The schedule includes stops in Indiana, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia, with various events featuring the Specialised Turbo eMTB GNCC National Championship Series. The Mountaineer GNCC in West Virginia will continue to honour first responders and military personnel, and the Ironman GNCC in Indiana will support Breast Cancer Awareness.

Two rain dates are set for July 6-7 and November 9-10, with locations to be announced if necessary. The full schedule, with dates and locations for each round, is detailed in the press release.
