Twenty seven years ago, G-Star debuted its RAW Elwood jeans. Made for movement, the jeans featured a dynamic 3D denim design that redefined G-Star as a trailblazing, trendsetting brand. The cutting-edge construction of the revered jeans solidified G-Star’s reputation across various subcultures, including the street dance scene. Decades after debuting, the iconic denim returns in revamped colorways, two different fits and unisex offerings, merging styles of the past with the present. Worn by Bronx-based professional dancer Pauline Casiño, the durable denim construction highlights the curves and contours of the human body in motion.Rocking the latest denim range from the G-Star Elwood collection, Pauline flaunts her art form.

Adhering to the trends of today, the new line arrives with seven genderless styles, classic colorways and an all-new sustainable fabric. The collection offers a variety of styling options, depending on the denim’s fit. For instance, the regular and loose fit denim feature tiered panels and tailored pockets, providing ease of movement when dancing or performing.. Despite G-Star’s contemporary design updates, the new Elwood jeans maintain key elements of the mid-90’s iteration, from the 3D knee patches and 45-degree pockets, to the slanted thigh seams, saddle patch and heel guard.

Along with preserving the original details of the denim design, G-Star retains its reputation as a cultural force in fashion and beyond. To this day, the Dutch brand continues to champion street dance and club culture worldwide, and members of these communities continue to resonate with G-Star’s powerful philosophy. From Tokyo to New York City, where contemporary choreographer Pauline resides, G-Star spotlights the feelings of freedom and creative expression embodied by her art and other aspiring performance artists.

Donning the brand’s 3D Japanese denim, Pauline showcases how her individualistic identity radiates through her hip-hop moves and contemporary variations. She diligently integrated herself deeper and deeper into the street dance scene, eventually harnessing her talents as a professional performer.

As an instructor at the premiere Peridance Center, the creative talent echoes G-Star’s ethos of embodying authentic self-expression on and off the streets. Pauline's distinctive style and expression in her artistic discipline shines through in her day-to-day wardrobe.
