Professional Cyclist Moriah "Mo" Wilson's Killer Found Guilty By Texas Jury

Moriah Wilson was killed in a "jealous rage" in May of 2022. Yesterday, November 16th, 2023, her killer - Kaitlin Armstrong - was sentenced to life in prison for her murder and a number of other charges pertaining to her evasion of authorities for 43 days following the killing.

Per the AP, Wilson had briefly dated Armstong's then-boyfriend and prosecutors believed that to be the reason for the murder. And, according to Velvelovelo, an Instagram gravel news page, "Armstrong, a former yoga instructor, stood before Judge Kennedy and appeared expressionless as the decision was read."

Here is a post about the conviction.

Moriah "Mo" Wilson was, by all accounts, "Exceptional in every way." Teammates, competitors, and friends all spoke very highly of the 25 year old mountain biker and skier.

Wilson was in Austin, Texas to compete at Gravel Locos, a 150 mile gravel race around Austin, when she was tracked down and murdered by Armstrong. Wilson, in her short career, became a prolific force in gravel and mountain bike racing.

Some of her notable results were winning the Sea Otter 80k, a top 10 finish in the Unbound ultra-gravel race, 2nd place at the Leadville 100, and winning the San Diego Belgian Waffle ride.

Her impact will be felt throughout the mountain bike and gravel world for years to come.
