Some Bachelor producers are reportedly discussing casting Colton Underwood as the franchise's first gay Bachelor following him coming out on Good Morning America. TMZ reports that a "number of producers" were moved by Colton's GMA interview, and have "informally" talked over the last couple days about the possibility of him returning for another season—though it's unclear whether Colton would even be interested at this time. Especially since he's currently in production on a show with Netflix.

According to TMZ, Colton is not under contract with The Bachelor, but did call producers ahead of his interview to give them a heads up.

During his sit-down with Robin Roberts, Colton said "Obviously, this year's been a lot for a lot of people. And it's probably made a lot of people look themselves in the mirror and figure out who they are and what they've been running from, or what they've been putting off in their lives. And for me, I've ran from myself for a long time. I've hated myself for a long time. And I'm gay. And I came to terms with that earlier this year and have been processing it. And the next step in all of this was sort of letting people know."

Colton also added, "I'm emotional, but I'm emotional in such a good, happy, positive way. I'm like the happiest and healthiest I've ever been in my life, and that means the world to me."

The former Bachelor star also apologized to his ex Cassie Randolph in the interview, who he allegedly stalked, prompting her to get a restraining order which she later dropped. Colton reportedly did not reach out to Cassie ahead of his interview, and she "hasn’t really had time to navigate how she feels about it yet."
