Pro Makes First Powder Turns Of Season On Opening Day

Opening days are here, and they're showing up on our feeds.

Even if you wish you were there, we can all appreciate a good thirst trap of beautiful snow in November. Especially when it's from professional freeskier Karl Fostvedt and it's being filmed at Alta in Utah, famous for their light, fluffy snow.

Karl captioned his video, "first slash of the year. Another epic opening day at Alta."

Alta, in Cottonwood Canyon, is known for its above-average snowfall compared to other Utah resorts, which are already up there in terms of powder. Alta is also considered to have some of the best snow in all of North America.

It is also one of the oldest ski areas in the US, and there is terrain for both beginners and experts alike. Terrain for everybody except snowboarders, that is.

Fostvedt is originally from Idaho, but he has skied all over the world for Warren Miller Entertainment, Matchstick Productions, Teton Gravity Research, and Good Company.

Karl is always up to something, whether it's packing first tracks or producing ski films.

Earlier this month came the release of Brap Ski 3, the ski and snowmobile film series which Karl created, and then skied in, filmed, and produced, along with a host of other big names.

The latest installment to the series featured skiing from Thayne Rich, McRae Williams, Chris Logan, Smasher, Wing Tai Barrymore, Collin Collins, Lars Chickering-Ayers, Kai Van Bueren, Toby Rafford, Nick Reedy, and Matt Guyre from Southern Utah to Alaska.

Watch Brap Ski 3 below.

Watching people huck cliffs on snowmobiles and hike through fresh pow gets us pretty amped. Whatever your flavor is for enjoying fresh snow, are you psyched yet?
