A Pro Designer’s $25 Kitchen Decor Haul at Dollar Tree (You’ll Use Them All the Time)
If there’s one thing I’ve learned about shopping for kitchen decor (which is a huge part of my job!), it’s that you should never underestimate discount stores — they often have the same items as big-box stores, but for a fraction of the price. And Dollar Tree is no exception. But what would a design expert get on a trip there?
I asked Connecticut-based interior designer Naïka Andre, CEO and principal designer at NJA Interiors — who has over 15 years of experience injecting edgy, creative design solutions into clients’ spaces — what she would do with $25 shopping for her kitchen at Dollar Tree. Walk, don’t run to your local store (or online) for these clever, stylish picks:
Large Decorative Hanging Wall Shelves with Rope
If you’ve got wall space, you’ve got decor space — and these decorative hanging shelves with rope are just the ticket. “These are great for displaying small, lightweight plant pots,” Andre says.
Elegant Glass Drawer Pulls
“Glass pulls are a wonderful way to update boring kitchen cabinets,” Andre says. “The glass adds a touch of elegance.”
Gold Rim Glass Vase
“These glass vases are the perfect vases for bud floral arrangements,” she says. “I like to display a cluster of them on my breakfast table with a different flower in each vase.”
Glass Jars with Stainless Steel Lids
“Glass jars offer visibility, so items are easier to find, preserve freshness, look great, and reduce environmental impact,” she says. Opt for the 33.8-fluid ounce option, or the slightly shorter 29.75-fluid ounce size for all of your decanting or storage needs.
Clear Round Glass Floral Bowls
“Round, fishbowl vases make for a classic arrangement. It’s easy to store, and it’s a great vase for those just getting into floral display,” she notes. “I love displaying hydrangeas in mine since the shapes are similar to each other.”
Clear Glass Mugs, 18 oz.
“What’s a kitchen without mugs?” Andre says. “I love drinking my citrus tea out of these clear mugs with real orange slices.”
