Priyanka Chopra started her one-year wedding anniversary celebrations early with Nick Jonas by surprising him with a puppy one morning last week. But the official day was yesterday, and the couple publicly marked the occasion by sharing adoring—and slightly extra—Instagram tributes featuring wedding photos, videos, and effusive captions about how much they love each other eternally.
Chopra posted a video of them holding hands and then multiple wedding photos. She captioned the gallery with a declaration of love to Jonas. "My promise. Then..today.. forever," she started. Chopra and Jonas were married last year in a lavish multi-day ceremony in India. They had Hindu and Christian ceremonies, and the wedding made global headlines. Chopra responded later to critics who claimed she overshared the nuptials with the world.
“If I wasn’t a famous person and I’d just got married, don’t you think my Insta would have photos of me and my husband?” she told The Sunday Times in a June interview. “Just because I’m famous, don’t I have the ability to be proud of being a newlywed without people saying that I’m using my marriage? I gave up my right to privacy when I became a public person, it’s the deal you make with the devil. But trust me, there are lots of things I still keep personal.”
