Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas Missed the Emmys for a Ranch Getaway

The first time the public saw Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas together, it was already red carpet moment-and they weren’t even officially together yet. The two turned heads at the Met Gala last year, but since striking up relationship rumors this spring, their appearances have been limited to fan-snapped photos or paparazzi pics.

However, they did pose for photographers at the Ralph Lauren show during New York Fashion Week almost two weeks ago.

Considering Chopra’s starring role in Quantico (which just had its series finale last month), fans were hoping to see the star return to the Emmys red carpet-this time with her fiancé.

But unfortunately for Nick and Priyanka fans, the couple skipped the awards ceremony for a more down-to-earth occasion. They were far from Los Angeles, spending time at a ranch in Oklahoma, according to Chopra’s Instagram account.

Before that, they were in Dallas, hanging out with Joe Jonas. They were also celebrating Nick’s birthday at an Anaheim Angels baseball game, since he turned 26 on September 16. And earlier this month, the couple went on a romantic getaway to Mammoth Mountain, California.

With all of their traveling, the Emmys may just not have been a priority for the two. But we surely missed seeing Chopra's jaw-dropping red carpet fashion, like the striking red Jason Wu dress she wore to last year's ceremony.

“That was one of my favorite all-time looks of my career,” she reminisced to BAZAAR.com in June.

Chopra hasn’t announced any new television projects since wrapping up Quantico. Instead, she has been working on movies, like the rom-com Isn’t It Romantic, with costars Rebel Wilson and Liam Hemsworth. (She was also working alongside Chris Pratt on Cowboy Ninja Viking, but the movie was delayed indefinitely for unclear reasons.)

So perhaps we’ll see the couple hit the Oscars red carpet instead.
