Priyanka Chopra Jonas says her botched nose job caused 'deep depression'

Priyanka Chopra Jonas got candid about a botched nose job which caused her to fall into a "deep, deep depression".
The Quantico actress talked to Howard Stern on his radio show and told him, "It was a dark phase."
She said she had gone under the knife to get a simple polyp in her nose removed but there were complications and she was left with scarring.
"This thing happens, and my face looks completely different, and I went into a deep, deep depression."
The Miss World 2000 winner added she also lost acting roles because of the surgical error and said she thought her career was "over before it started".
She was fearful of getting surgery again, but her late father, Ashok Chopra, encouraged her to get corrective surgery.
"I was terrified of that, but he was like, ‘I will be in the room with you'. He held my hands through it and helped me build back my confidence."
She also told Stern she was grateful to Bollywood director Anil Sharma, who helped her and supported her during this dark period.
"I was supposed to play this lead, and I was shifted to a supporting character. He - while the tide was against me—said, ‘It will be a small part but give it your all.' And I did.'"
In her memoir Unfinished Chopra went into greater detail about how it affected her and how the botched nose job became her "strength".
"My difference is my strength. If I looked like other 'classically beautiful' girls, then I wouldn't stand out, and more important, I wouldn't be me."
