Priyanka Chopra Debuts Super-Long Hair at JBL Fest in Las Vegas
Priyanka Chopra's hair is long. I don't think anyone will dispute this statement. With few exceptions — Google "Priyanka Chopra bob haircut 2009" — the actor has almost always been seen with hair that reaches well past her shoulders, and it never looks less than stunning, whether it's worn wavy, straight, or in an updo. But Chopra apparently craved even more length, showing up to JBL Fest in Las Vegas with her longest hair ever.
Chopra was at the music event to introduce Pitbull, with whom she collaborated on her 2013 song "Exotic" (also worth Googling), but her hair easily stole the spotlight. Worn stick-straight and parted down the middle, it featured warm, coppery highlights that grew in intensity from midlength to the ends, creating an ombré effect in her dark-brown color. And those ends went past her waist, the longest strands reaching her hips.
It's safe to assume that the new foot or two of highlighted hair is the result of extensions. Not even 24 hours earlier, Chopra was posting JBL-sponsored photos to Instagram in which she was posing in Vegas with long — but not that long — hair in loose waves.
Chopra isn't the first celebrity to try the trend. Jennifer Lopez has broken out the super-long extensions several times over the last year, and when Kim Kardashian West almost instantly regretted chopping her hair into a bob, she was seen wearing waist-long extensions from coast to coast.
It's not an inexpensive way to switch up your style — at least not the way celebrities do it. According to L’Oréal Paris stylist Kellon Deryck, professionals looking to giving their famous clients the Rapunzel look use four or five individual bundles of extensions, each of which typically cost more than $200 — and then they charge up to $3,500 for installation.
Considering how incredible Chopra looked on the red carpet, I think it's safe to say it was worth it.
