Priyanka Chopra Is Bringing Back the ’90s Skort

With fashion, what’s old is always new again; well-dressed celebrities love bringing back a trend from decades past. (Bella Hadid has been obsessed with the noughties era, for instance.) Further proof: today, actress Priyanka Chopra emerged in Miami's Design District, where she did some shopping with fellow Jonas wife Sophie Turner, and she brought back a major ’90s staple for the retail-therapy outing.

The revived piece in question? The infamous skort—that’s half skirt, half short. It was a must-have staple during the ’90s, with brands such as Lacoste giving them a slightly sporty feel. Present day, Chopra did the trend in a more modern, fashion-forward way: she slipped on a printed style by Dakota Jinx, a boudoir-inspired label—think lots of silks and delicate lace trim—that produces all of its pieces in Los Angeles. She wore the brand’s Crybaby toile skort, pairing it with a matching Claudinha toile blouse. Then, she added of-the-moment accessories such as white strappy sandals by Charles & Keith, a Tod's bucket bag, Lack of Color straw hat, and cat eye sunglasses. It made for a summer throwback with a super current feel—in other words, a successful style nod to the past.
