You may not know the ins and outs of Priscilla Presley’s life story, but that’s about to change thanks to this post and a new film written and directed by Sofia Coppola. Priscilla hits theaters on November 3, and it looks to be jam-packed with gorgeous actors like Jacob Elordi, Cailee Spaney, cool music, incredible clothes, sky-high hair, and all manner of Elvis and Priscilla drama moodily shot in Coppola’s signature style.

Money From Elvis

Priscilla Presley was only 14 years old when she met Elvis Presley, who was already wildly famous and 24 at the time. (All these years later, I think we can all agree that Elvis was ain’t nothin’ but a hound dog.) Two years later, Priscilla moved into Graceland. (Yes, you’re doing the math correctly. She was a 16-year-old high school student.) When she turned 21, the couple tied the knot in Vegas. Despite having their beloved daughter, Lisa Marie, nine months-to-the-day later, it was hardly happily ever after. During their six-year-long marriage, there was a whole bunch of infidelity, pill-popping, and karate. The couple ultimately divorced in 1973, and Elvis settled things by giving Priscilla $725,000 plus child support and 5 percent of publishing. The King died on August 16, 1977.

Money from Being a Boss Lady

By the time the 1980s rolled around, Priscilla was famously making money on her own. She hired a team to turn Graceland into one of the most popular tourist attractions in the whole world and managed to grow the family trust to more than $100 million. She launched a perfume called Moments. She showed up in movies like Naked Gun and on television shows like The Fall Guy and Dallas. She also found time to write a biography with Sandra Harmon called Elvis and Me, which came out in 1985. She comes clean about how she and Elvis met, fell in love, and fell out of love. During the last few years, Priscilla has raked in millions from selling homes. She listed her parents’ four-bedroom, three-bathroom home in 2019 for $3.65 million. She sold her seven-bedroom, eight-and-a-half bathroom Beverly Hills mansion for $13 million in 2020. She currently lives in a $4.8-million primo penthouse in Century City.

Money From a Lawsuit & a Movie

Priscilla has been back in the news recently for a couple of reasons—one great and one not so great. Fist the not-so-great: She sued her granddaughter Riley Keough, after Lisa Marie tragically passed in January of 2023. Before things got too messy, she settled for a reported $1.4 million and will also be paid an undisclosed amount for 10 years, according to The New York Times.

A much better reason to trend: Sofia Coppola has turned Elvis and Me into an A24 feature film called Priscilla, and Ms. Presley presumably got a chunk of change for those life rights. This movie looks awesome. (Guys, there’s even karate in the trailer.) Cailey Spaney looks to be amazing as Priscilla; Euphoria’s Jacob Elordi is never not amazing.
