Princess Tiana’s Hair Is Natural in the "Wreck It Ralph 2" Teaser Photo

Wreck It Ralph 2: Ralph Breaks the Internet may technically be about Ralph breaking the Internet, but today it's Princess Tiana turn to take the world by storm.

Entertainment Weekly shared a still shot from the upcoming Disney flick showing everyone's favorite Disney princesses hanging out with Vanellope von Schweetz, ditching their usual ballgowns for sweats and jeans. It's basically Disney princesses IRL. And while there is plenty of amazingness to take in in the photo (Elsa's "Just Let It Go" graphic t-shirt, for one; Mulan's jeans an high-tops, for another) it's Tiana's new look that's got the entire Internet abuzz.

For the first time ever, the The Princess and The Frog protagonist is shown with long, natural curls, and the results are expectedly gorgeous. In the film, her hair was exclusively shown either in a high bun or pinned into a bob, so the fact that it's being shown naturally is a big deal... and Twitter has taken notice.

"TIANA HAS NATURAL HAIR IN THIS I ACTUALLY STARTED TEARING UP," wrote one user. "Tiana with her hair down (for the first time ever!) is the best thing #RalphBreaksTheInternet has given us ✨," agreed another.

As Disney's first ever black princess, the fact that Tiana was never shown with natural hair had been an enormous point of contention for fans. Many people even took it upon themselves to draw her re-imagined hairstyles. The fact that Disney has finally given Tiana the chance to let her hair down is another step in the right direction for normalizing natural hair onscreen.
