Princess of Monaco or Queen of California? This Calistoga Bride Is So Grace Kelly!

What we love about today’s wedding is that it’s so utterly classic, and yet so California. If you could bottle up the feeling of a vineyard walk— effortless, romantic, and sun-drenched, with wine glass in hand—you’d find it in the beautiful setting provided by Solage Calistoga. But today’s wedding elevates that relaxed wine country feeling with details that are the very definition of the words classic and timeless. With her swept-back hair and Vera Wang gown, the bride exuded Grace Kelly levels of poise and cool. The pavé-style bouquets and a romantic ceremony arch by Seascape Flowers were pristine-- not a petal out of place!-- and the the planning & design by Kindred Events Co. was equally flawless. So, settle in, pour a glass of wine, and luxuriate over the full gallery of exquisite photos by Carlie Statsky, and don’t miss the most romantic film by Grover Films at the end of the post!

Words from the bride: A modern take on a timeless, classic wedding. I wanted the classic, romantic wedding that would feel timeless when I looked back at photos years from now.

Calistoga and Solage are both naturally beautiful places that already have a special magic in the air when you are there. The sun seems to shine a little brighter in a happy way and it’s relaxed.

In hopes of complementing the spaces-- rather than competing against them-- we opted for a neutral color palette with a bit of blush pink, apricot, and champagne for added warmth and beauty. The floral arch was designed to mirror the lace details on my dress and veil, a very personal touch that brought every element together in harmony.

The ceremony and cocktail hour were neutral and classic, though we did introduce a bit of pink to personalize the reception. Solage is also slightly modern, so I wanted to reflect that in some of the planning details. While I love classic and timeless beauty, not everything we did was traditional; some details were unexpected, youthful, and fresh.

I love flowers and how they can create soft, romantic spaces, so they were very important to me. We ended up mixing some of my favorites, peonies, ranunculus, and hydrangeas and added Ecuadorian roses, which my dad used to send my mom when they first started dating. The cake design was so special, as we recreated the lace on my dress for the bottom tier. I think that was one of my favorite details-- it was so personal and elegant. In the end, I wanted the day to feel like a reflection of us but without too many personal details. Each detail was meticulously thought-out and purposeful. I didn’t want anything to feel over- the- top, but effortless to protect that relaxed feeling.
