Prince Harry is sharing rare details about his relationship with Princess Margaret, including the interesting Christmas gift he received from her.

In his memoir Spare, the Duke of Sussex, 39, discussed his experience with several members of the royal family. This included Princess Margaret, who was the younger sister of Queen Elizabeth II.

According to Daily Mail, Prince Harry explained that their relationship was very surface-level, and he didn’t connect with her on a personal level. The royal even recalled a unique gift that he received from Princess Margaret during the holidays: a biro pen with a rubber fish on it. (FYI, “biro” is equivalent to “ballpoint” in the U.S.)

The Duke of Sussex revealed that he felt a slight disconnect from Princess Margaret, adding, “We spent the biggest holidays together, and yet she was almost a total stranger. Growing up, I felt nothing for her, except a bit of pity and a lot of jumpiness.”

Looking back, Prince Harry admitted that he wishes he got to know Princess Margaret better, especially since she had a similar experience within the royal family. “We had so much in common. Two spares,” he wrote. “Her relationship with Granny wasn’t an exact analogue of mine with Willy, but pretty close.”

Princess Margaret was the youngest daughter of King George VI and The Queen Mother. She shared two children with her ex-husband, Antony Armstrong-Jones: Lady Sarah Chatto and David Armstrong-Jones. She passed away in 2002 after suffering her fourth stroke.

Princess Margaret was featured on all six seasons of Netflix’s The Crown. The character was portrayed by Vanessa Kirby (seasons one and two), Helena Bonham Carter (seasons three and four) and Leslie Manville (seasons five and six).

The question is: Did Prince Harry keep the pen?
