The Princess of Wales steers far from Queen Elizabeth's sheer shade.

The youngest son of Prince William and Kate Middleton made his first appearance on the royal family's traditional walk to Easter service at St. George's Chapel in Windsor.

Prince Louis, who turns 5 on April 23, is also expected to join Prince George, 9, and Princess Charlotte, 7, at King Charles' coronation on May 6. Could this outing have been a test of sorts to make sure the young prince, known for making the silly faces royal watchers love, can walk the line at upcoming the historic event?

For the Easter walk, Louis matched his parents and siblings in a blue ensemble—powder blue shorts, a navy blazer, blue tie and knee socks. He didn't disappoint with a few cheeky glances at pool photographers.

But the real star of the color-coordinated family of five was Princess Kate in an electric blue coat dress by Catherine Walker, one of her favorite designers. She accessorized with a matching clutch bag, pillbox hat, nude court shoes and sapphire and diamond earrings. The surprising icing on her look: bright red nail polish.

This color choice is in major departure from the traditional neutral shades permitted in the royal dress code. For decades Queen Elizabeth famously wore Essie's Ballet Slippers. Maybe that rule ended when the queen died. We stan Kate!

Princess Charlotte wore a navy coat over a floral dress with blue tights, while Prince George matched Prince William in navy suits and blue ties.

King Charles and Queen Consort Camilla followed the theme with matching blue outfits in a shade similar to that in their recently released royal portrait. The Easter celebration marked a important day for Charles and Camila. April 9 was their 18th wedding anniversary as well as the two-year anniversary of the death of Prince Philip.
