Leave it to the Princess of Wales to make a fashionable grand entrance.

Prince William and Princess Kate made a joint appearance on day four of the Royal Ascot, where they rode in by carriage alongside Princess Beatrice and her husband, Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi.

The seasonal horse-racing event usually inspires the most memorable outfits in royal fashion history, and Kate’s look today did not disappoint. The princess wore a scene-stealing shade of red from head to toe. The look included a breezy midi dress from Alexander McQueen, which featured puffy bishop long sleeves and a V-neckline, as well as a large hat with matching floral adornments, satin pumps, and a rectangular clutch. She further accessorized with statement earrings—a pair of gold dangle half-moon pendants trimmed with black beads.

Kate isn’t afraid of embracing a pop of color. In fact, her royal wardrobe is known for championing vibrant palettes.

Most recently, she attended the Trooping the Colour parade in a bright emerald ensemble, consisting of a long-sleeved dress with ornate blue-and-silver square buttons from Singaporean designer Andrew Gn. She topped off the look with a green wide-brimmed hat by Philip Treacy, sapphire-and-diamond earrings that once belonged to Princess Diana, and the Irish Guards’ special gold shamrock brooch.

Last month she opted for another colorful monochromatic moment, wearing an entirely baby-pink look on a solo engagement in London. The Alexander McQueen suit was comprised of a fitted blazer and tapered pleated trousers, which she paired with a matching pink blouse. For some contrast, she added an ivory pearl-embellished belt and white pumps.
