Today, situated in the ambiance of Stade de Marseille in France during the Rugby World Cup, England's rugby champions discovered an ally: the radiant Catherine, Princess of Wales. A dedicated patron of England's Rugby Football Union and Rugby Football League, she graced the quarterfinal against Fiji in an elegant business-casual look.
Chosen by the late Queen Elizabeth II herself, Kate assumed the esteemed role of patron of England's Rugby Football Union and Rugby Football League in February 2022, a position once held by Prince Harry before he stepped back from his working royal role with his wife, Duchess Meghan, in 2020.
This wasn't Kate’s first venture into the heart-pounding rugby arena. Just a month earlier, she uplifted England's spirits at a match against Argentina. Then, England triumphed with a commanding 27-10 victory. Yet, it wasn't solely the rugby spectacle that captivated the audience at today's game; Kate's stylish ensemble, as well as her autumnal hairstyle debut—chic curtain bangs and polished waves—also took up the spotlight.
Defying the old-fashioned “no white after Labor Day” tradition, she donned her tried-and-true timeless Zara white boucle double-breasted blazer with gold buttons—a piece she's sported in various hues, on multiple occasions. She paired the blazer with tailored black slacks, and adding a touch of refined glamour, casually draped a black Chanel bag over her arm and wore her sapphire-and-diamond engagement ring.
We recently witnessed the Princess of Wales's spirited competitive side in action. Just a few days ago, she enthusiastically took part in a Rugby League Inclusivity Day in Hull, a city in East Yorkshire, England, during which she played a fun game of wheelchair rugby with the athletes. The event, organized by Hull FC and the University of Hull, coincided with the United Kingdom's National Inclusion Week from September 25 to October 1.
