Princess Eugenie’s Wedding Decor Was Briefly Knocked Over Due to High Winds at Windsor Castle

Hold your hats! It was so windy at Windsor Castle on Friday, October 12, that guests were seen walking into the entrance of St. George’s Chapel holding onto their fascinators while a few others helped fix fallen decor blocking an entrance.

With less than one hour until the start of the ceremony, Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank’s guests filed into the wedding venue many holding their hats and fascinators to prevent the pieces from flying off. One even lost her fascinator due to nature’s sweeping gesture though it appeared to be a deceptively sunny afternoon in Windsor.

Shortly before the shuttle buses arrived to the chapel, a tree—arranged as part of the autumnal-themed wedding day decor—was also knocked over at one particular spot. Two guests, dressed in their wedding attire, graciously helped clear the debris and place the decorative item back to its original spot.

Overall, guests appeared to be in great spirits.

Eugenie is the 17th royal ever to get married at Windsor Castle. The 16th, of course, was Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.

“It’s definitely creeping up on us now, the nerves,” she told ITV on Thursday night. Though there’s no turning back for the pair.

“It was love at first sight—that’s why,” she resolutely noted.
