Update, 10/10: It's official! Princess Beatrice will serve as her younger sister Princess Eugenie's wedding this Friday. In honor of the announcement today, the royal family shared sweet throwback photos of the sisters on Instagram.

Original story, 8/2: Princess Eugenie's October 12 royal wedding to Jack Brooksbank is quickly approaching, but does she have a maid of honor helping her prep for the big day? Although the role is uncommon for British weddings, will she go the Kate Middleton route and break tradition? Or will she pull a Meghan Markle and not have a maid of honor at all?

In a new interview, Princess Eugenie revealed that she will have a maid of honor, and her only sibling and sister, Princess Beatrice, will take on the role, according to People.

"I’m not stressed at all," the bride-to-be said of wedding planning. "It’s nerve-racking because you want it to be perfect, but then you realize that you’re going to be with the person you love forever and nothing else really matters."

Expect to see other royal family members involved in the nuptials too; Princess Charlotte will be a flower girl and Prince George will be a page boy. The tots have already had plenty of wedding experience thanks to their uncle Prince Harry, who got hitched in May, and aunt Pippa Middleton, who got married last year.

Like Eugenie, Prince Harry was speculated to choose his only sibling as his best man, and the groom ultimately did select the Duke of Cambridge for the role. Markle, on the other hand, didn't have a maid of honor because "she didn’t want to choose one over another," a palace spokesperson said ahead of the ceremony.

However, her friends still helped her prepare for the wedding. Her bestie Jessica Mulroney, for example, assisted in choosing the wedding day wardrobe.
