- One of Princess Diana's most iconic gowns is going up for auction.

- The dress is expected to sell for around $450,000.
If you're a fan of Princess Diana's style, then you're probably familiar with the gown she famously wore when she danced with John Travolta at the White House.
The Victor Edelstein blue velvet evening gown looked simply stunning as Diana was twirled on the dance floor by Travolta. The princess attended the White House gala dinner, which was hosted by Ronald and Nancy Reagan, during a trip to the United States in 1985.
In what would now be a viral moment, Diana's dance with Travolta made her blue velvet gown recognizable all over the globe.
In June 1997, just two months before she tragically passed away, Diana auctioned off many of her dresses, including her Victor Edelstein gown. The sale of her clothing raised money for the Royal Marsden Hospital Cancer Fund and the AIDS Crisis Trust. Since then, the dress has changed hands a number of times, but is being made available again for one lucky person with the capital.
Lucy Bishop of Kerry Taylor Auctions told The Independent, "This is considered one of the most important and iconic gowns ever worn by the princess."
Passion for Fashion takes place on December 9, 2019, with Kerry Taylor Auctions, if you're ready to snap up the piece for your wardrobe.
