As if we needed reason to love Princess Diana even more, Barbra Streisand just shared the sweetest story involving the late royal that confirmed one major fact we already knew: She was a total girls’ girl.

In her new memoir, My Name Is Barbra (released on Tuesday), the multi-hyphenate reflected on a time when the Princess of Wales narrowly helped her avoid a wardrobe malfunction when attending the 1992 premiere of The Prince of Tides in London.

After attempting to follow royal protocol by waiting for Diana to stand first when receiving applause during the screening, Streisand said Diana bypassed the rules so she could help the singer by quickly — and discreetly — zipping up her dress.

“The zipper on my skirt had come down a bit as I was sitting, and she noticed and quickly started to zip it up for me as I got to my feet,” Streisand wrote, per People. “When I finally sat down, Diana turned to me and asked, ‘Do you know how wonderful you are?’”

The EGOT winner then noted that she was surprised by the comment, as it was the same question songwriter Marilyn Bergman had asked her 30 years prior. “I certainly didn’t know it then. Did I know it now?” Barbra continued. “I’m not sure ... maybe a little. I thought Diana was wonderful. I wonder if she knew how wonderful she was.”

Streisand’s revelation comes just years after she confirmed that she also once crossed paths with then-Prince Charles when talking to U.K. presenter Ross King — although she notes that the interaction occurred in 1974, long before she met Diana.

“He asked to meet me. So, he came to the recording studio," she shared of their initial introduction, "I offered him a sip of tea and I thought, They didn't have to test me for poison or something? No.”

Barbra added, “We became friends, and I loved spending some time at Highgrove for a weekend fundraiser and going through his gardens.”

My Name Is Barbra is available now.
