Today in "Random Former Employees of the Royal Family Dust Off Their Gossip," Princess Diana's personal trainer Jenni Rivett is out here claiming that Lady Di was always in love with Prince Charles-and never wanted to divorce him.

During an appearance on Yahoo's The Royal Box, Rivett revealed that "Given the choice she would have stayed and tried to make a happy marriage. She loved Charles." Uh-huh Sure. But please, continue!

"She married for the right reasons," Rivett said. "She married for love. It wasn't her that asked for all of this. It was sprung upon her. She wasn't the one that wanted to separate or have a divorce."

Hmm, seems inconsistent with infamous tapes of Diana saying their relationship was "odd" and that her wedding was the "worst day of her life," but okay. In any case, Rivett also says that the Princess was upset that she lost her HRH title in the divorce, saying "I think she just felt hurt, as you would. It was just one thing after another. She had to be such an ambassador for Britain and everyone adored her and loved her and she was still the mother of the future king. Why should she lose her title?"

FYI for those of you side-eying these claims, a 1997 article in The Chicago Tribune includes a statement from Diana after she parted professional ways with Rivett, and it's clear that they were good friends: "Sunday newspaper articles suggesting that there had been an acrimonious parting between me and my friend and trainer Jenni Rivett are completely untrue," Diana said in the statement. "We both decided that my training now-after six years-needed to take another direction. Jenni is, and remains, a close personal friend and I can never thank her enough for all she did for me."
