Princess Charlotte's viral move was actually aimed at her grandpa
Princess Charlotte, always the scene-stealer!
The four-year-old royal made headlines earlier this month for a very cheeky move at Kate Middleton and Prince William's King's Cup Regatta, which helped to raise money for their various royal patronages. While Prince George showed off his new toothless smile while cheering on his parents during the competition, it was his sister's silly antics that stole the show.
While leaving the trophy ceremony, which Bear Grylls won on behalf of the Duke of Cambridge's organization Tusk, Princess Charlotte and the Duchess of Cambridge stopped on the stairs to wave to royal well-wishers. Instead, Charlotte decided sticking out her tongue would be the best way to say hello.
The silly move received different reactions from the public: Some commented that she's just a normal kid, while others complained the tot was being "rude."

It turns out, however, the royal wasn't trying to mess with photographers or well-wishers -- instead, she was aiming at her grandpa, Michael Middleton, who was helping babysit his grandkids with wife Carole during the event.
This wasn't the first time Charlotte has made headlines for her sassiness. The royal pulled the same move at the RAF 100 event and again at Prince Harry's royal wedding in May 2018.
