Princess Charlotte Has a Surprisingly Sophisticated Favorite Snack

Kate Middleton revealed during an appearance today that her daughter, Princess Charlotte, loves this polarizing food.

No animal crackers here—Princess Charlotte, age 3, has a sophisticated snack palate.

Kate Middleton revealed during an official appearance today that her daughter “loves olives.”

Olives are a polarizing food, even among adults—you love them or you hate them. Charlotte falls in the former camp, which is lucky for mom, the duchess: Olives are an incredibly healthy snack with a high nutritional value. (There’s a reason they’re a staple in the wholesome Mediterranean diet.)

She also said that Charlotte and George love to make “cheesy pasta” with her. It seems that the two little royals are quite the home cooks: Last year, the Duchess of Cambridge opened up about their love of playing with pizza dough. “They love it because they can get their hands messy,” she said.

Although Prince William and Kate Middleton are quite careful about what they share about their children, the public is gradually getting a clearer picture of their children’s personalities and interests. George, for one, is a fan ofThe Lion Kingand helicopters. Princess Charlotte loves to dance, just like her grandmother, Princess Diana. And, in the Cambridge family, Charlotte is also “the one in charge,” the duchess said. (Even the Queen backed this up.)

And baby Prince Louis is growing up fast. Last month the duchess said her youngest “is already a fast crawler.” Prince William shared that Louis was already teething. The newborn turns 1 on April 23—which, in a happy coincidence, is two days after Queen Elizabeth’s birthday and right around Meghan Markle’s expected due date. Sounds like an exciting spring for the royal family.
