Princess Charlotte Is All Ready to Attend a New School This Fall

Princess Charlotte will attend the same school as her brother, Prince George. Here’s what she can expect.

This fall, Princess Charlotte will have her first day at a new school. Yet there’s no need to be nervous—because her big brother will be by her side.

Kensington Palace announced that the little princess will attend Thomas’s Battersea, the same school as Prince George, this fall.

“We are delighted that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have decided that Princess Charlotte will join her elder brother, Prince George, at Thomas’s Battersea,” the school’s headmaster said in a statement. “We greatly look forward to welcoming her and all of our new pupils to the school in September.”

Previously, Princess Charlotte went to the Willcocks Nursery School in London. But it seems she’s already looking forward to her next educational adventure: “Charlotte has got a real character, she is very excited about starting school,” a source told Vanity Fair.

What is there to be excited about? According to Thomas’s Battersea website, classes like art, ballet, drama, French, and music. It’s said that Charlotte loves to dance—so perhaps ballet is already a shoo-in for her favorite subject.

There are also after-school activities galore, such as fencing, pottery, and community gardening. Thanks to mom Kate Middleton’s “Back to Nature Garden” at the Chelsea Flower Show, for which Charlotte gathered sticks and moss, she already has some practice with the latter.

Overall, the school focuses on a singular motto: “Be kind.”

It’s assumed that, like Prince George, Charlotte will go by the name Charlotte Cambridge at Thomas’s Battersea. (Or she may even go by her adorable nickname.)

The public will likely get a glimpse of backpack-clad Charlotte come September: It’s somewhat of a tradition for little royals to pose for a first-day-of-school portrait that’s released to the public. And, if it’s anything like her first day at nursery school, she’ll be wearing quite the color-coordinated outfit.
