Princess Charlotte & Prince George Swim "Quite Well," Says Prince William

• Prince William has opened up about his children's love of swimming.

• The Duke of Cambridge revealed that Prince George and Princess Charlotte both swim "quite well" already.

• William revealed the tidbit during an investiture ceremony at Buckingham Palace while speaking to a famous swimmer.

Prince George and Princess Charlotte are apparently keen swimmers.

Dad Prince William revealed that his two eldest kids love swimming, while conducting an investiture ceremony at Buckingham Palace this week. The Duke of Cambridge met with Eileen Fenton, who was the first woman to ever compete in the Cross Channel Swimming Race in 1950. She was 21 years old at the time, and received an honor Tuesday from the prince for her achievements.

Fenton, who is now 91, told the Press Association (via People) of her meeting with William, "He said that he and his wife make sure the children can swim and they all go and they swim quite well." William also apparently dubbed the royals as a "family of swimmers."

Fenton also explained, "I can remember seeing when the Queen was young and her sister Princess Margaret—we used to see them swimming in pictures." She continued, "He said the whole family have done it."

The Kensington Palace Twitter account celebrated Fenton's honor by sharing a video of the swimmer meeting William with the caption, "Congratulations Eileen Fenton MBE. Eileen was the first woman to complete the Cross Channel Swimming Race in 1950, and went on to train scores of first-class long distance and sprint swimmers."

It was previously reported that Duchess Kate organizes swimming races for George and Charlotte, and that the little princess loves doing little "duck dives."
