Other notable royals have made power suits an essential part of their royal wardrobe, especially when it comes to daytime engagements and royal duties. Kate Middleton has fashioned suits by such designers and fashion labels as Burberry, Alexander McQueen and Roland Mouret, among others.

The power suit has a long history as an essential staple of menswear. But over the course of the last several decades, royal women have made the power suit their own. From Princess Diana’s 1988 Catherine Walker suit and Hackett waistcoat to her daughters-in-law — Catherine, Princess of Wales and Meghan, Duchess of Sussex — respective takes on the trend, the royal power suit has grown in popularity. Princess Charlene is just the latest royal to demonstrate her proclivity for the fashion staple.
