Princess Beatrice and Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi celebrated their love surrounded by friends and family at an exclusive engagement party on Wednesday evening.

The couple hosted the intimate event at chic London watering hole, Chiltern Firehouse in Marylebone. Renting out the venue, the 31-year-old Princess of York and 36-year-old property developer toasted their engagement surrounded by members of Beatrice’s extended family and a host of celebs.

1. What Members of the Extended Royal Family Were There?

Princess Beatrice saw the more senior members of her family at her grandmother Queen Elizabeth’s annual Christmas lunch at Buckingham Palace earlier that day. However, when it came time to fête her engagement, some more surprising royal family-adjacent well-wishers stepped out. Although the princess, her beau and her sister, Princess Eugenie, weren’t photographed arriving at the party (they were likely getting everything ready), many of the other guests were.

Pippa Middleton & James Matthews

The Duchess of Cambridge’s younger sister, 36, attended the soiree alongside her husband, financier James Matthews. She selected a silver sequin dress for the occasion and paired it with black sheer tights and a black trench coat.

James Middleton & Alizee Thevenet

The newly engaged couple arrived at Chiltern Firehouse looking casual and very much in love. The youngest Middleton sibling, 32, popped the question to his new fiancée weeks after Edo, as friends call him, put a ring on Beatrice’s finger. No word yet on a wedding date, but we’re personally excited about the prospect of two royal(ish) weddings next year.

Sarah “Fergie” Ferguson

Of course, the RSVP list wouldn’t be complete without Princess Beatrice’s 60-year-old mum, Sarah, Duchess of York. Fergie arrived at the party dressed chicly in an Alexander McQueen-looking coat dress, a Chanel cross-body bag, sheer black tights and super cool lace-up combo boots. Taking a style cue from the Duchess of Cambridge, are we?

2. Which Celebs Were in Attendance?

Princess Beatrice’s close friend Ellie Goulding was of course in attendance, as were other British stars of note: TV personality Ayda Field, singer James Blunt and British Vogue editor in chief, Edward Enninful. Interestingly, Robert De Niro also made an appearance, which makes us wonder how he came to know the Princess of York and if will he be at the wedding. Speaking of…

3. When Will Princess Beatrice & Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi Get Married?

Although a formal announcement has yet to be made, the newly engaged couple will likely take the plunge next year. The wedding is expected to be on the smaller side (yes, a small royal wedding is possible) and Mapelli Mozzi’s toddler-aged son will presumably be involved as a page boy.
