Prince William

While Prince William is known to many by his official title, it makes sense that those close to him might call him by some sort of nickname.

Thanks to William's cousin-in-law Mike Tindall, who is married to Zara Tindall, the daughter of Princess Anne, the public is now aware of a cheeky nickname that relates to William's history playing sports—and his ability to drink alcohol.

While appearing on the podcast Seven: Rob Burrow, Mike, a rugby player, casually revealed William's nickname: "The Prince of Wales is known to me as One Pint Willy because he's not the best of drinkers, coming from a sport where it is built on the social aspect and a couple of beers being sunk quite often." It appeared that Mike was referring to rugby, as he was discussing the sport before he was questioned about nicknames.

"That is one I will give away for the Prince of Wales. ‘One Pint Willy.’ It's out there now. Sorry, sir," he went on, before his wife Zara, who was also on the podcast, jokingly scolded him, "You're in so much trouble!"

William and Mike might be cousins by marriage, but they appear to be quite close, often spotted greeting each other with a hug in public. The prince seems equally close to his cousin Zara, who has been married to Mike since 2011.

As for the Tindalls, both are avid athletes. Mike is a former professional rugby player while Zara is a talented equestrian. She competed as part of the Olympic team multiple times, taking home a silver medal in 2012. Zara and Mike also appear to love other sports such as golf and seem to take part in the activity often, even hosting the ISPS Handa Mike Tindall Celebrity Golf Classic each year.

The couple has three children together, Mia, Lena and Lucas, while Zara also has an older brother, Peter Phillips. She is currently 21st in line for the throne.
