Prince William Says YouTube Tutorials Taught Him How to Do Princess Charlotte’s Hair

We’re all guilty of spending hours on YouTube in an attempt to create an easy updo from the comfort of our bathroom. Well, you might be surprised to know that Prince William not only styles Princess Charlotte’s hair, but he also learned by watching how-to videos online.

Yesterday, the 36-year-old prince visited Revoe Park in Blackpool with his wife, Kate Middleton. While there, the Duke of Cambridge chatted with another dad about the struggles of parenting a daughter and revealed that he’s low-key becoming Char’s hairstylist, according to People.

Prince William admitted that ponytails aren’t his thing, saying, “Never try to do a ponytail! Nightmare.” The duke credited YouTube with helping him perfect the style, and we’d do anything to see his watch history.

When Middleton asked him if he “tried to do a plait [braid],” Prince William reminded her that it’s one step at a time. He continued, “I can do [Princess Charlotte’s] ponytail, but that’s about it as I don’t have enough hair to practice on!”

The event was in honor of Revoe Park, which recently underwent a transformation to provide visitors with a family-friendly playground. The goal is to promote outdoor learning, and it sounds right up Middleton’s alley.

Up next? Mastering the French braid. Gulp.
