Prince William and Prince Harry Have a New Financial Agreement

  • Prince William and Prince Harry have agreed to split proceeds from Princess Diana's memorial fund.

  • The brothers will donate the money to charitable causes of their choosing.

Prince William and Prince Harry have once again made moves to separate their charitable activities. The Guardian reports that the royal brothers have agreed to divide all proceeds from Princess Diana's memorial fund between them. Apparently, an agreement was signed in December 2019 stating that money will be split between the Royal Foundation of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and the Sussex Royal foundation—which has since been disbanded.

So, what does that mean for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle? According to The Guardian, documents state, “In March 2020 The Duke and Duchess of Sussex announced that they would no longer be operating Sussex Royal as their primary philanthropic vehicle in the UK and accordingly their share of the net income will instead be donated to another charity of the Duke of Sussex’s choosing."

As a reminder, Meghan and Harry are in the process of setting up their new Archewell Foundation—though it doesn't seem like the charity will launch anytime soon due to both coronavirus delays and Meghan and Harry wanting to take their time and get it right.
